Recently, I did a Periscope broadcast about the United Church of Christ and how they, like other liberal denominations, have abandoned Scripture and have embraced cultural norms as truth. I went through their Facebook Page photos and commented on a few of them. One image stood out to me most:
When you abandon Scripture, you have to get your truth from somewhere! The UCC has decided that culture can decide truth. There’s one more thing I want to address before the video.
An atheist commented, “Aren’t they just trying to be honest upfront?”
My answer is: No! If Scripture is all-knowing it can’t be wrong…EVER. If it were to be wrong, it would know it was wrong. Thus, the Scriptures wouldn’t be wrong, they’d be lying to us. That isn’t honest. It’s logically and morally bankrupt. But, then again, if Scripture could be wrong, then who really cares right?

Thanks for Watching,
I have heard a lot of people say that gay people can’t change. Well, Rosaria Champagne Butterfield’s testimony refutes that view. Here is her story found on the Authors on the Line podcast (23 minutes):
Jesus’ death on the cross was sufficient to forgive anyone’s sins…that includes you!
Thanks for reading/listening
A common argument that gay affirming christians use is the ‘Jesus never taught against homosexuality’ argument. A perfect example of this argument comes from gaychristian101.com:
I know many Christians think He should have mentioned how bad homosexuality is but Jesus never said anything like that. Homosexuality wrong? Not according to Jesus.
The argument boils down to this. Since Jesus never spoke out against homosexuality, he must be okay with it. The question is this: Does that logic make any sense? Here are a couple of examples that will put this argument to bed.
#1 Jesus never spoke out against pedophilia. Pedophilia wrong? Not according to Jesus.
#2 Jesus never said that it was wrong to commit suicide. Suicide wrong? Not according to Jesus.
#3 Jesus never taught against beastiality. Beastiality wrong? Not according to Jesus.
Nobody, would argue that Jesus was okay with any of these things, which shows the absurdity of the argument that many gay affirming christians use. If only Jesus had taught what proper Christian relationships are then we could work with that. Unfortunately for the gay affirming crowd, Jesus tells us exactly what Christian relationships should look like:
‘But from the beginning of creation, “God made them male and female.” “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.’ -Mark 10:6-9
Jesus tells us clearly that a Christian relationship is between a man and a woman. That is how God created humanity and that is how God ordained marriage. Jesus didn’t need to condemn homosexuality because he taught what a Christian relationship is.
In school, I was taught that 1+1=2. I didn’t need to be taught that 1+1 isn’t 1, 3, 4, 5, or 6. If I turned in an assignment saying that 1+1=4 and the teacher marked me down I could not say, “But, you never taught me that 4 was a wrong answer!” She would roll her eyes and mark it in red anyway. The same rule applies to Jesus’ teachings.
If Jesus clearly teaches us what a Christian relationship is, then he doesn’t need to teach us what a Christian relationship isn’t.
God created man and woman to be together. We, as humans, are constantly fighting against God’s creative order because we are sinful. For those trapped in a sinful relationship, of any kind, you can taste freedom from that sin. God has the power to save you from sin. Jesus died on the cross for sinners and by grace you may be saved through faith in him. I pray that you will be saved by the wonderful blood of Jesus Christ.
